Ingredients :-
Rice - 1 cup
Toor dal - 1/2 cup or 3/4 cup ( I prefer 3/4 cup )
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Ghee - 3 tablespoon
Whole pepper - 1 tblsp
Jeera - 1 tblsp
Salt to taste.
Method :-
Add toor dal, rice in a cooker after washing along with turmeric pwd.
Add water ( 1 cup of rice- 3 cups water ) ( 1/2 cup toor dal - 1/2 cup water) you could reduce if you wish thicker consistency.
Leave it for 3 to 4 whistles.
In a pan add ghee , when it's hot enough add jeera and peppercorns along with curry leaves and cashew which is optional.
Once the peppercorns splutter turn of the heat.
Once you open the cooker add salt along with ghee tempered with jeera and pepper.
Mix gently and serve while it's hot.
